See What Happened at the 2019 Show!

Val Chmerkovskiy

Fan favorite, world champion dancer, and reality star Val Chmerkovskiy of Dancing with the Stars will be appearing at the Southern Women’s Show in Birminfham! Chmerkovskiy is a two-time winner of the hit ABC celebrity dance competition, as well as a two-time World Latin Dance champion and 14-time U.S. National Latin Dance champion. He is also the author of “I'll Never Change My Name: An Immigrant's American Dream from Ukraine to the USA to Dancing with the Stars, which chronicles the failures and successes that have shaped him, from his early life in Ukraine to immigrating to the U.S. to his ascent to pro dancing stardom.

Chmerkovskiy will appear Saturday, October 5 at 12pm  on the Fashion & Entertainment Stage to share the behind-the-scenes details of filming Dancing with the Stars, what it was like to grow up as an immigrant in Brooklyn, how he achieved career success amidst the ups and downs, and what others can learn from his inspirational life experiences in pursuit of their own dreams. A fan meet-and-greet will follow.

Cooking with Katie Dixon

Katie Dixon competed on the 2016 Season of MasterChef and made it through 15 rounds before being eliminated.  It was her likability and demeanor that caught the attention of the Food Network and they selected her to compete for the Next Food Network Star. Her signature dish of braised and roast beef over sweet potato grits almost got her eliminated when the meat was too rare.  This Mississippi chef survived and made it to Week 7. Katie, is constantly impressing people with her bubbly personality and her recipes that burst with flavor. Growing up working on her grandparent’s farm, Katie cultivated her love for cooking and creating tasty dishes in the kitchen with her family, growing up and working on her grandparent’s farm. A private chef and the owner of a café, personal trainer and Mom of two girls, Katie’s Southern style with an international twist is a force to be reckoned with in the kitchen. She’ll share her heart for nourishing people through food on the Cooking Stage at the Southern Women’s Show on Saturday and Sunday.

Trace Barnett - The Bitter Socialite

A natural-born entertainer, creator, decorator, gardener and jack-of-all-trades, Trace Barnett always knew he would pursue a career with a creative outlet. After years of working with various design groups, national lifestyle publications and appearing on Food Network Star, Trace launched The Bitter Socialite, an entertaining and lifestyle design firm that is anything but stuck-up or stuffy. His book Tracing Roots focuses on taking a modern approach to living off the land.

See him whip up Bourbon Apple Dumplings on the Cooking Stage Friday, October 4th at 11:30am!

Nicole Allshouse

Nicole Allshouse, host of Talk of Alabama will be appearing at the show on Satuday and Sunday!  She is an Emmy nominated Journalist and AP Best Reporter Award Winner. In her spare time, Nicole is a motivation speaker -  talking to churches, schools and organizations about an ordeal in 1981, after a drunk driver almost took her life at 4 years of age. Nicole also runs her own media consulting business, called All Media Consulting Pro, helping small businesses to Fortune 500 companies develop at strategic communication plan, as well as media crisis training. This year, Nicole launched her own lifestyle blog, nicoleallshouse.com where she dives into the life of a working mom, sharing stories of her home life, faith, recipes and interior design! In addition, Nicole debuted SCARNATION - a community on facebook and instagram where women can share stories of surviving and overcoming any pain or hardship life sends their way.  She hopes the testimonies on the page can encourage others not to give up, but instead to dream up! She is currently working on her first Childrens book with a goal for a 2020 publication.  Now at 42 years old, the entrepreneur, mom, and journalist says her primary focus each day is to wake up and “choose happiness.”
