Stephen “tWitch” Boss
was born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama where as a child he was always seen dancing. At times when he wasn’t allowed to dance, like at school or church, he would resort to “popping and ticking” (a popular hip-hop style of dance) that resembles a twitch to most. That was how he earned the nickname “tWitch.”
tWitch originally won over fans with his amazing performances on Season 4 of the popular dance competition series So You Think You Can Dance,
where he finished runner-up. He was invited to return for a special All-Star Season 7, where he met his wife, Allison Holker. Boss has continued to dance, choreograph and even judge on subsequent seasons. On the most recent Season 12, he was featured as the Team Street mentor.
Since jumpstarting his career, he’s starred in Step Up 3D
, Step Up: All In
, and Step Up: Revolution
, the latest installments in the popular dance movie franchise. Most recently, Boss starred alongside Channing Tatum in the blockbuster hit Magic Mike XXL
as the newest member of the dance crew. Along with his work in feature films, tWitch is a reoccurring DJ on Ellen
, joining her multiple times a week. He also serves on the board of directors for the Dizzy Feet Foundation, which aims to support, improve, and increase access to dance education for the underprivileged in the US. Don’t miss tWitch on the Fashion & Entertainment Stage Friday, April 29th
